Class Description

With autumn's arrival, it's time to dive into hands-on learning with The Brick Lab's engaging after-school LEGO® classes for elementary students. Explore STEAM topics, ignite creativity, and sharpen critical thinking skills with every brick! PLEASE NOTE: Due to the holiday and school calendar impacting Monday classes in the Scotts Valley Unified School District this program will ONLY be 5-weeks rather than our customary 8-week program. Pricing and scheduling have been adjusted to reflect this change. There will be no class November 11, 18, and 25. Utilizing only genuine LEGO® sets his class has been specifically designed to meet young learners at their level. From LEGO® newbies to experienced builders The Brick Labs Instructors are ready to lead the way through weekly hands-on learning adventures. While we recommend this class for students in kindergarten and 1st grade we do accept older elementary age students as well. This 5-week class will follow the same weekly schedule: 15-20 minutes to eat lunch/snack, free build and LEGO® play. 5-10 minutes discussion on the STEAM topics of the week. 25-35 minutes for building the weekly challenge project. 15-30 minutes of free building and LEGO® play. 5-15 minutes for cleanup. Class will wrap up every week in the designated classroom. If a student needs to be picked up early caregivers can find us at the designated classroom (disclosed 1 week before the start of classes). At the end of the 5-week class students will receive a small LEGO® set to continue their learning adventure at home. What is LEGO® Play? Not every student wants to build LEGO® every week or for the full class period. That is why The Brick Lab also offers LEGO® inspired play. From mini-figure stuffies we call Building Buddies, to LEGO® coloring pages, books, and games we work hard to engage students with LEGO® while also allowing time for a break from building. None of our activities are compulsory. Students are welcome to dive into our weekly Instructor led curriculum or explore and play with LEGO® as they please. Our goal at The Brick Lab is to facilitate each student’s personal growth utilizing hands-on learning through play. PLEASE NOTE: A Brick Lab Instructor will meet kindergarten students when school gets out at 2:10. Students will get 25 minutes to play on the playground, weather permitting, at no additional charge.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel, please contact us via email sent to Info@SVBrickLab.com up to 72 hours before the class start time for a full refund. Cancelations past 72 hours will incur a penalty fee for late cancelations.
